罗田地质遗迹资源简介
罗田地质遗迹资源十分丰富，不仅保存有天堂寨、薄刀锋、笔架山等雄伟壮观的花岗岩地貌景观，更保存有大别山最古老的根带物质——黄土岭古陆核、大别山最古老的岩浆岩——TTG岩系等世界级重要地质遗迹点，是一座集美学欣赏与科学研究于一体的天然地质博物馆。
Brief Introduction about Geological relics resources of Luotian County
Geological relic resources are very abundant in Luotian County ，not only preserving grand granite landscapes of Tiantangzhai, Bodaofeng and Bijiashan etc., but also preserving the world-class important geological relics, such as the oldest root material of the Dabieshan-ancient continental nucleus in Huangtuling, the oldest magmatic rocks-TTG rock series etc. It is a natural geological museum integrating aesthetic appreciation and scientific research.

花岗岩地貌景观
天堂寨群峰逶迤绵亘，山势雄伟险峻，主峰天堂顶海拔1729.13米，是花岗岩体经风化、剥蚀、崩塌作用形成典型花岗岩峰丛地貌。天堂寨素以“山雄、壑幽、水秀”著称，如哲人峰、大别神龟、小华山、天堂顶等花岗岩象形山石景观，神仙谷、双龙潭、神仙灶等流水侵蚀地貌景观以及百丈崖瀑布、云崖瀑布、天堂崖瀑布等瀑布景观。
Granite Landscapes
Tiantangzhai winds through the mountain chains which looks grand and majestic. The main peak Tiantangding is 1729.13 meters. It is the typical granite peak cluster ground feature developed after weathering , eroding and collapsing. Tiantangzhai has been famous for " being majestic, peaceful and quiet and picturesque". There are pictographic granite sceneries like Philosopher Peak,Dabie Supernatural Tortoise, Xiaohua mountain and Tiantangding(Top of Tiantangzhai). People can also see the views eroded by the flowing water like Immortal’s Gorge, Double Dragon Pond and Immortal’s Hearth. There are some well-known waterfalls on the peak: Baizhangya-cliff Waterfall, Yuanya Waterfall and Tiantangya Waterfall.
薄刀锋位于大别山主峰南麓，它是由数十个群体山峰组成，主峰大孤坪海拔1404米，东西宽约10千米，南北长25千米，面积约30平方千米。薄刀锋山体由中细粒黑云二长花岗岩构成，经长年风化侵蚀形成了高陡险峻的“薄刀”地貌景观，侧看似薄刀，横看如卧龙，因此得名“薄刀峰”、“卧龙岗”。著名景点有笑天蛙、卧龙岗、天子弯腰、锡锅顶等。
Bodaofeng is situated on the southern side of the main peak of Dabieshan Mt. It is composed of 10 groups of peaks. The main peak Dahuping is 1404 meters high. It is 10 kilometers wide from the east to the west and 25 kilometers long from the south to the north. The total area is about 30 square meters. The mountain structure of Bodaofeng is made up of medium-fine grained biotite-monzonite with phenocrysts.After years of weathering and eroding, the mountain structure becomes high and steep sharp-edged form. The profile looks like sharp knife edge. Horizontally, it looks like sleeping dragon, hence the name "Sharp Knife Peak"(Bodaofeng) and "Sleeping-dragon Hills"(Wolonggang). Quite a number of well-known views are there: Xiaotianwa(Stone frog), Wolonggang(Sleeping-dragon Hills), Tianzi Wanyao(Bowing-empreor Stone), Xiguoding(Stone Boiler).

黄土岭古陆核
黄土岭古陆核位于位于罗田县黄土岭小学院内，岩性为紫苏石榴黑云片麻岩，主要矿物为石榴子石、黑云母、紫苏辉石等。它形成于28亿年前的高温高压变质作用，是大别山地区最古老的组成物质，有着“大别山之根”的美誉。“古陆核”是大陆地壳演化过程中最早形成的块体，是地球在原始熔融阶段一些比重较轻的物质上浮、聚合而成，随后的大陆围绕着它继续生长与演化，它是现在大陆的核心。
Huangtuling Ancient Continental Nucleus
The Huangtuling ancient continental nucleus is located within the primary school of Huangtuling village, Luotian County. The lithology is hypersthene garnet biotite gneiss. The main minerals consist of garnet, biotite and hypersthene etc. It was formed by high temperature and high pressure metamorphism 2.8 billion years ago. It is the oldest compositional material of the Dabieshan with reputation of “root of the Dabieshan”. "Ancient continent nucleus" is the earliest block during continental crustal evolution. It was formed by floating and aggregation of some density-smaller materials during the primary melting stage of the earth. Subsequent continent continuously grow and evolve around it. It is the core of the nowadays continent.

TTG——地球早期演化的产物
TTG岩系是指由英云闪长岩（T）、奥长花岗岩（T）和花岗闪长岩（G）三类岩石组成的古老花岗岩（主要形成于太古宙，距今25亿年前）。早期地球是一个炽热的“火球”，为熔融岩浆所覆盖，没有或只有极少量固态物质（岩石）存在。随着地球表层逐渐冷却，最早的一批岩石开始从岩浆析出、冷凝、结晶，构成英云闪长岩、奥长花岗岩和花岗闪长岩三种相伴出现的岩浆岩组合(TTG岩系)，它们代表了地球上最古老的岩石组合的一部分，演化成最早的原始陆块。
TTG rock series are mainly composed of tonalite (T) , trondhjemite (T) and granodiorite (G), and belong to ancient granites that mainly formed before 2.5 billion years ago during Archean. The early earth was a fiery “fireball” that was covered by molten magma, with no or only occurrence of a very small amount of solid matters (rocks). As the earth's surface gradually cooling, the first batch of rock started to separate from the magma with condensation and crystallization, forming a magamtic assemblage of concomitantly emerging tonalite, trondjemite and granodiorite（ TTG rock series）, they represent a part of the oldest rock assemblages on the earth and are evolved to be the earliest primary continent.
